Rebirth:

Portal of Presence

The Portal of Presence Ceremony is a sacred community gathering held on the grounds of Rebirth Retreat Center. Its intention is to create a space of surrender, where participants reconnect to the power of presence — releasing stories of the past and worries of the future to embrace the only moment that truly exists: the present.

Through ceremony, ancestral energies, and intentional community, each attendee is supported to receive exactly what their spirit and body need. Every element of the gathering — from the space, to the people, to the food — is curated with devotion and reverence.

This is more than an event. It is an initiation into the deep wisdom of being fully alive in the here and now.

Meet your facilitator: Dane Wolf Roundtree

Dane Wolf Roundtree carries the living wisdom of Blackfoot Cherokee, Irish, and Peruvian lineages, walking his ceremonial path for more than 30 years. His initiation began with peyote, Sun Dance, sweat lodge, and the sacred pipe, grounding his mission: to guide others back to the sacred heart — to love, innocence, and divine connection.

Above all, Dane is a guardian of women, children, and the sacred masculine, holding space for profound healing, balance, and the awakening of one’s divine blueprint.

Background & History

Hawachuma, also known as San Pedro cactus, is a sacred plant medicine from the Andes, revered for thousands of years. Indigenous peoples of Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia have worked with this cactus in ceremonies for healing, divination, and spiritual awakening.

The Quechua word Hawachuma means “remover of the head” — symbolizing the dissolution of the ego, mental chatter, and illusions, allowing the heart and spirit to open.

Often called the “grandfather medicine,” Hawachuma carries a masculine, grounding energy, complementing the feminine wisdom of Ayahuasca.

Effects & Benefits

Participants often experience:

Deep sense of connection with nature and all living beings

Expansion of the heart center (love, compassion, forgiveness)

Release of emotional and energetic blockages

Heightened clarity, creativity, and presence

Spiritual visions, ancestral guidance, and personal insights

Possible Side Effects

As with all plant medicines, experiences vary. Some participants may encounter:

Nausea, stomach discomfort, or purging (physical/emotional release)

Intense emotions or resurfacing of past traumas for healing

Sensitivity to sounds, light, or energy in the space

Physical fatigue after long ceremonial immersion

With preparation, respect, and skilled facilitation, these effects are part of the medicine’s cleansing and teaching process.

Closing

The Portal of Presence Sacred Ceremony is an invitation to step beyond the noise of the world and reconnect with your highest truth.

At Rebirth, we hold this sacred work in reverence, guided by ancestral traditions and the wisdom of the heart. Together, we create a space of love, healing, and awakening — one where presence becomes the portal to rebirth.
